Siborg Systems Inc.’s handheld digital LCR-meters, the LCR-Reader and Smart Tweezers have grown into a globally recognized device for efficiently testing and troubleshooting Surface Mount Technology and PCBs. With help from multiple distributors across the globe, customers are able to receive their devices faster, as well as have a closer-to-home option for customer service.

Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader are fully automatic, handheld digital LCR-meters designed to efficiently test and troubleshoot Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and PCBs. The unique combination of a set of gold-plated tweezers, a small display, and an LCR-meter in a pocket-sized 1 oz. device has been a proven success since the beginning. Unlike conventional bench type testers, Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader require no set-up between evaluations, nor do they require 2 hands to work the probes. Instead, when the tweezers have a grasp on a component, the device will automatically determine the type of component and measure accordingly for Inductance, Resistance, Capacitance as well as secondary values such as the Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR). The measurement values are instantly available on the embedded display, as well as component type, secondary values, and test parameters.

It also ensures that customers don’t have to send their devices back to North America for repairs or calibration. With the help of Bokar International and their affiliate Production Solutions in Poland, customers in Europe can send their devices to the calibration facility in Poland for annual calibration. The Smart Tweezers devices that are used by high-tech companies require annual calibration of test equipment to stay ISO compliant. Previously there were only 3 calibration facilities, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; Pasadena, California; and New Delhi, India.
